It's incredibly true! It's all anyone is talking about, it's completely hyped up and while it can be a profound experience, you do wonder what all the talk was about afterwards.

The same could and should be said for the motorcycle industry as well as the general after market parts industry, both of which have done a woeful job at supporting their customers. Worse, almost all have failed at effective search engine optimization and marketing.

I made an observation regarding what I called the 'infinite aisle' a little while ago regarding the integration of the online store experience and the brick and mortar one. I suggested the installation of in-store kiosks which could help with extended inventory, the same way electronics stores such as Best Buy do but with the launch and extreme popularity of mobile applications, we should, perhaps consider the mobile platform for steering the shopping experience.

There’s a funny blog on freedomhaters.org on the Whopper Virgins commercial.

It ties it into Noam Chomsky and how the indigenous people on the commercials will most likely be forced to move to big cities when the fast food chains move in, and have to work for Burger King for a tenth of what American’s make.

Check it out here:

1999? The year Boo.com crashed and burned? There is so much more creativity now than there was back then because the technology has caught up (is catching up) with our imagination.

But as it relates to commerce type Web sites, you're right. There's much more standardization and less flexibility. How many clients have said "I want a __________ (Apple.com, Williams Sonoma, or fill in blank) site."

From a marketing and engagement standpoint, things are much more fun. Just look at the FWA or banner blog and compare with what we were looking at and working on in 1999.

I can't wait to see what happens by 2019...
